who we are
South Yorkshire Music Scene exists for the people who keep live music alive. The bands loading gear through back doors in the rain, the venues risking it on original artists, and the crowds still turning up for “just one pint” and leaving three hours later with no voice.
From tiny pub stages to packed-out local venues, we shine a light on artists from every corner of South Yorkshire and every genre imaginable. Indie, metal, acoustic, punk, hip-hop, pop, rock and everything in between. If it’s loud, honest and happening here, we care about it.
This platform is about bringing together fans, musicians, promoters, photographers, venues and everyone else behind the scenes who helps make the local music community what it is. No gatekeeping. No pretending to be London. Just real people backing local music because they genuinely love it.
South Yorkshire has always had a strong musical heartbeat. Legendary venues, unforgettable bands and generations of artists who built something special from the ground up. But this is not just about nostalgia and “remember when.” There are incredible artists building something here right now. Writing songs in bedrooms, rehearsing in lockups, hauling amps up staircases and putting everything they’ve got into live shows.
That’s what South Yorkshire Music Scene is here for. To help people discover their next favourite local band before everyone else starts pretending they knew them first.
